Employment, Salary and Benefits

Fellows are employed and credentialed solely by Family Health Center of Worcester where they perform their clinical work and are paid a salary consistent with the UMass GME pay scale for PGY-4. They are full-time employees of their health center and have standard health, dental, disability, and malpractice insurance coverage. They also receive five days of continuing medical education time and financial support, licensing and board reimbursement, professional membership dues reimbursement, sick and personal time, and four weeks of paid vacation time. 

Although the fellowship has an academic affiliation with UMass, fellows are not UMass employees nor are they credentialed to work at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Reflecting their role as educators within the fellowship’s model, they are granted a faculty appointment through the UMass Department of Family Medicine and Community Health as Instructors.
