Assessment of whole body fat, lean and water mass using 1H-MRS

Whole body, organ and tissue biopsy composition of fat/lean/water mass will be non-invasively measured in awake mice using 1H-MRS (Echo Medical System; photo). This instrument is appropriate for studies requiring multiple measurement in individual mice, such as chronic changes in adiposity in response to high fat diet, without the risk of anesthesia-associated complications.
