Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
UMass Chan has established an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), which is qualified through the experience and expertise of its members to oversee the institution's animal program, facilities, and procedures.
The committee is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposals using vertebrate animals in research, teaching and testing. The IACUC is charged with assisting and advising the Director of the Department of Animal Medicine on all animal resource operational matters.
