IRB

The UMass Chan Institutional Review Board (IRB) must review and approve all research involving human subjects. The IRB also fields questions regarding whether an activity is or is not research involving human subjects. The IRB provides written determinations in response to written requests that are submitted as new studies in eIRB.

The Research Informatics Core ensures the security of patient information by controlling and auditing the distribution of data after IRB documentation is obtained.
