New PSMA Tracer
Our Nuclear Medicine and Cancer and Molecular Imaging Divisions are excited to announce the roll-out of our newest PET tracer, 18F-PSMA for prostate cancer PET/CT imaging with Shields Health Care Group. This new tracer is addressing an umet need in prostate cancer care and can detect substantially more prostate cancer lesions compared to conventional imaging. These high-quality exams are allowing us to find small sites of disease and providing clinicians with the information they need to make treatment decisions. The figures show examples of how this tracer is able to detect metastatic disease in 4 mm (left) and 6 mm (right) lymph nodes, that would otherwise not meet pathologic size criteria by CT.
