Mike King Honored as SNMMI Fellow
Michael King, PhD - Fellow of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging
Michael King, PhD, Professor and Radiology Vice Chair for Research was made a Fellow of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI). Dr. King was nominated by Mark Madsen, PhD, a Professor of Radiology at the University of Iowa. Forms are submitted with the nominee's accomplishments in select areas to the Committee on Fellows for approval. Those members approved by the SNMMI Board of Directors are recognized at the SNMMI Annual Meeting. This year the meeting will be held virtually July 11-14, 2020.
The purpose of the SNMMI Fellowship Program is to recognize members of SNMMI for their service to the Society and for their outstanding contributions to the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. SNMMI Fellowship is one of the most prestigious formal recognitions available to long-time SNMMI members and symbolizes distinguished service to SNMMI as well as exceptional achievement in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. Fellowship is bestowed upon only a small percentage of SNMMI members. The Society aims to preserve the honor associated with being recognized as an SNMMI Fellow.
Dr. King has been a member of the SNMMI since 1980. His contributions to the Society and Nuclear Medicine Community include in brief:
