Critical Results Alert

Dr. Steven Baccei, Vice Chair Quality, Patient Safety, and Process Improvement and Jason Wilder, Radiology Admin Coordinator recognize two individuals instrumental to the Critical Results notification system Lauren George and Michelle Poole.

The Radiology department has a system for communicating alerts to ordering providers on studies where an actionable finding was identified. These are commonly referred to as “critical results” and the system that sends out these alerts is called PowerConnect Actionable Findings (formerly PowerScribe Critical Results).  Both Michelle and Lauren reach out to the ordering providers who have not yet acknowledged receipt of those actionable findings and close the communication loop to ensure that both the ordering provider and patient are aware. We handle hundreds of these alerts each month thereby ensuring important diagnoses don't fall through the cracks. Thank you Michelle and Lauren.
