Hemang Kotecha, DO
Hemang Kotecha, DO joined the Division of Emergency Radiology as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Kotecha is a familiar face in the department. He was Chief Resident from 2016-2017 and was honored at graduation as the first recipient of the Dr. Balikian – Go The Extra Mile Award.
Dr. Kotecha earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Brandeis University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. After completing his residency at UMass Chan Medical School he went on to do a Fellowship in Emergency Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
When asked what attracted him to UMMS Dr. Kotecha said "The most important among many factors is the camaraderie not only between radiologists, technologists, and administrative personnel, but also the overall sense of community within the department and institution." His clinical and teaching interests include Trauma and Vascular Imaging, MR Imaging in the ED and Interdisciplinary collaboration. Outside of work Hemang likes to travel and is a huge fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. Welcome back!
