Dr. Yongfeng Yang is an associate professor of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University, China. He is also associate director of the Psychiatric Biobank of Xinxiang Medical University. Dr. Yang’s major clinical and research interests are around genetic and brain imaging biomarkers of schizophrenia, and innovative treatment strategies. He has published more than 20 original research papers in major academic journals including Nature, Schizophrenia Bulletin and Translational Psychiatry etc. He has received funding support from the National Key Research and Department Program and the National Natural Science Fund in China.

Wenbin Guo, MD, PhD |
Dr. Wenbin Guo is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, China. Dr. Guo’s research focuses on neuroimaging studies in various psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, major depression and somatization disorder. He is the first author and/or corresponding author for more than 60 original research articles published in major academic journals including Schizophrenia Bulletin, EBioMedicine, Schizophrenia Research and European Neuropsychopharmacology. In addition, he has published more than 10 textbook chapters. Dr. Guo also serves as a guest editor for Frontier of Neuroscience and Frontier of Psychiatry.

Qinling Wei, MD, PhD |
Dr. Qinling Wei is a Professor of Psychiatry and Vice Chair of the Psychiatry Department at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, China. Dr. Wei’s major clinical and research interests include early detection and intervention of schizophrenia and other mental disorders. He has published more than 20 original research papers in major academic journals. He has received funding support from the National Natural Science Fund and other government sources in China. Dr. Wei also has extensive clinical experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry and medical co-morbidity in mental disorders.

Fang Liu, MD, PhD |
Dr. Fang Liu was with the UMass Psychotic Disorders Program as a visiting scholar in 2017. She is an associate professor at the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University in China. Dr. Liu’s clinical and research interests focus on novel intervention strategies to improve psychotic symptoms and cognitive deficits in patients with schizophrenia.

Jiang Du, MD, PhD |
Dr. Jiang Du joined UMass Psychiatry as a visiting scholar in 2017. She is an associate professor of Psychiatry at Shanghai Mental Health Center and Shanghai Jiaotong University. Her clinical and research interests focus on drug abuse treatment and prevention, treatment for individuals with dual diagnosis (mental illness and drug use), HIV/AIDS related high risk behavior prevention among drug users. Dr. Du has been involved in various pharmacological and psychosocial intervention studies including collaborative projects with Dr. Fan’s group.

Tao Zou, MD, PhD |
Dr. Tao Zou joined UMass Psychiatry as a visiting professor in March 2016. He was primarily involved in the Psychotic Disorders Clinical and Research Program.
Dr. Tao Zou is a professor of Psychiatry and Chairman of the Medical Psychology Department at Guizhou Medical University and its affiliated hospital, Guizhou Province, China. Located in southwest China, Guizhou Province is a picturesque place with abundant natural scenic spots, and rich and distinctive folk customs and cultures of different ethnic groups.
Dr. Zou has extensive experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry, medical co-morbidity and real life functioning recovery. Dr. Zou’s major clinical and research interests include various psychosocial treatment approaches for major mental diseases such as schizophrenia, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. He is also interested in cultural aspect of psychiatry, particularly mental health issues in minority ethnic groups in China. Dr Zou has a strong interest to explore the role of culture, philosophy, literature, sociology in relation to the development and treatment of mental illness.

Wenxu Zhuang

Wenxu Zhuang was at the Psychotic Disorders Clinical and Research Program at the UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) and UMass Memorial Health Care as a visiting scholar in 2015. He received his Bachelor degree in psychology from East China Normal University in 2013. He was a graduate student from Professor Min Zhao’s research group at the Shanghai Mental Health Center, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China. His research focuses on neuroimaging and neurocognitive function in patients with methamphetamine addiction.

Yanli Luo, MD, PhD |
Dr. Yanli Luo was at the UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) and UMass Memorial Health Care as a visiting scholar during 2014-2015. She has been collaborating with Xiaoduo Fan, MD, MPH, MS, Director of the UMass Psychotic Disorders Clinical and Research Program. Dr. Luo is Vice Chair of Department of Psychiatry, Tongji Hospital, Shanghai, China, and associate professor of Psychiatry at Tongji University.
Dr. Luo's research interests include the mechanisms and treatment of persistent somatoform pain disorder, as well as clinical pain in patients with schizophrenia or other major mental disorders. Dr. Luo has practiced psychodynamic psychotherapy for many years, and also has extensive experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry. Dr. Luo is also interested in cross-cultural psychiatry; she is passionate about educating the general public on mental illness awareness and treatment.
Dr. Luo completed her medical degree at Tongji University Medical School. She was then trained by Professor Mingyuan Zhang, and earned her PhD degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University Medicine School, Shanghai, China.

Xueqin Song, MD, PhD |
Dr. Xueqin Song was at the UMass Psychotic Disorders Program during 2012-2013. She is a professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Psychiatry at Zhengzhou University Affiliated Hospital in China. Dr. Song’s major research interests include the role of inflammation and immune regulation in relation to schizophrenia and comorbid metabolic problems.

Jie Li, MD, PhD |
Dr. Jie Li is a Professor of Psychiatry at Tianjin Medical University and Chief Psychiatrist at Tianjin General Hospital in China. Dr. Li’s research focuses on the biological mechanisms, genetic risk factors and pharmacotherapy for schizophrenia and depression. During her stay at UMass in 2012, Dr. Li was involved in a study examining the effect of intranasal insulin treatment on body metabolism in patients with schizophrenia.
