Meet our Students

The Student Spotlight series features students in the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing and T.H. Chan School of Medicine. Our spotlights dive into the student experience on campus. You’ll meet students working on research in our state-of-the-art labs and discover what they like best about the curriculum. Learn why they chose UMass Chan Medical School and Worcester for their graduate education. Students in all three schools share their off-campus experiences in the Worcester community, from working with patients through the Worcester Free Clinics to hiking with friends at Mount Wachusett on weekends.     Indiana-born DNP student Eugenia Trammell-Goldsby, RN, directed her church’s choir at age 10. She has refined her early leadership skills as a nurse manager in the transplant unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center and has launched a Black nurse leader mentorship pilot program, helping nurses of color who aspire to become nurse leaders.

    PhD candidate Seden Bedir moved from Turkey to the U.S. to study at UMass Chan Medical School. She aims to engineer RNA sequences that don’t exist in nature in order to enable mRNA-based therapeutics beyond vaccines. In her free time, she mentors students from Turkey.
