Thirumala-Devi Kanneganti, PhD is a world-leading expert and leader in innate immunity, cytokine signaling, and cell death. She is a Member and Vice Chair of the Immunology Department at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and she is the Rose Marie Thomas Endowed Chair. She is a founding member of the inflammasome field. Her work has uncovered the central role of the pattern recognition receptors NLRP3 and ZBP1 in innate immune responses and cell death. She has been named one of the most highly cited researchers in the world for six years running by Clarivate Analytics, and she continues to advance basic and translational research through her current works.
