PEM Fellows

Camille grew up in the Blackstone Valley (just south of Worcester) and is thrilled to return to Central MA for PEM fellowship. After beginning college as a Marine Biology major, spending time in Italy, and subsequently discovering her interest in medicine, she worked in a pediatric primary care office with her former pediatrician, who also organized recurrent medical mission trips to the mountains in the Dominican Republic. She then went to medical school at LUCOM in Virginia and happily returned to New England for pediatric residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, staying on as Chief Resident. During residency, she developed a passion for pediatric emergency medicine and providing acute care for children, which was reinforced with extra time spent in the Peds ED as her secondary continuity site while in residency. Her clinical interests in PEM are medical education, toxicology, and ultrasound, and generally hoping everyone will love the Peds ED as much as she does. In her free time, Camille can often be found gardening, hiking, cooking, making things, spending time with friends and family, and doing her best to remain a kid at heart.

Inbar was born and raised in Boston. She stayed local for college at MIT where she studied Materials Science and Engineering. While there she conducted translational research, developing self-healing polymers that could be used as surgical glue and siRNA “microsponges” for cancer drug delivery systems. She also became a Certified Pirate, having taken courses in Sailing, Fencing, Pistol, and Archery. For medical school, she moved to Worcester to attend UMass as a Blackstone Bear where she developed her passion for pediatrics through her Longitudinal Preceptor Program in the Pediatric ED. She volunteered at the Akwaaba Free Clinic and participated in the Dominican Republic Batay Health Initiative. She then moved to Washington, DC with her husband, Max, and son, Adiv, for pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center. She found that she loved emergency medicine and taking care of diverse patient populations. Inbar also developed an interest in machine learning and clinical informatics and hopes to one day make using an EMR as intuitive as an iPhone.  In DC she enjoyed visiting all the Smithsonian museums and especially the baby panda at the National Zoo. She is excited to be returning home to UMass to be the inaugural PEM fellow. 

Michelle grew up in the North Shore of Massachusetts, and attended Boston College for her undergraduate degree in biology. After finishing college, she lived in Tanzania for two years working for the Peace Corps. There, she worked in the public health sector, with most of her work focusing on the implementation of HIV/AIDS test & treat programs and education. She primarily worked with children and adolescents during this time and also lived on the grounds of a primary school, and it was there that she discovered her love of working with children! She returned to her home state and completed medical school at UMass. She attended residency at Mass General Hospital for Children, where her interests included the development of educational tools for residents and medical students. It was also there that she discovered a love of emergency medicine and providing acute care for children, prompting an interest in pediatric emergency medicine. Her interests in emergency medicine include the function of the emergency room as a point of access to care for underserved populations. In her free time, Michelle can be found developing new recipes or engaging in any activity that gets her into the woods. She is thrilled to be returning to UMass for PEM fellowship!
