Hi, I'm Alison! I am originally from Upstate New York, but moved to Western New York for almost a decade where I studied Biomedical Sciences during undergrad at the University at Buffalo (UB), and then stayed on at UB for medical school as well. I then made the move to Worcester to complete my OB/GYN residency here at UMass Chan, where I fell in love with UMass and the field of MFM and found myself lucky enough to stay for MFM Fellowship! In MFM, I enjoy the complexities of medicine in pregnancy as well as the diverse patient care we get to participate in, spanning both the inpatient and outpatient settings. I also enjoy the surgical and procedural side of the field and have found UMass to be a welcoming and supportive place to pursue my educational goals. I live in Worcester with my husband and our dog. We spend our weekends exploring the local hiking trails and dog parks, checking out all of the incredible restaurants, and trying to emulate our favorite dishes at home.

Hello, I’m Courtney, one of the current MFM fellows! I am a Massachusetts native, having grown up in the Springfield, MA area. After high school I migrated east to Stonehill College where I studied neuroscience, then made my first stop in central MA for medical school here at UMass Chan. Following medical school, I completed my OB/GYN residency at Penn State, and then made my way back to UMass for MFM Fellowship. MFM was an easy choice for me. I feel that it strikes the perfect balance between complex medicine, meaningful patient interactions and scientific inquiry. My research interests include clinical topics such as substance use in pregnancy and basic science work involving birthing parent and neonatal microbiomes. The UMass MFM fellowship is special in that we are truly encouraged to customize our experiences, focusing on the areas and interests we are passionate about! My husband and I currently live mid-way between Worcester and Boston with our pup Juliet and love spending our weekends visiting with friends and family, exploring local trails, and trying out new recipes.
