The data center at UMass Medical School has been awarded the Management & Operations (M&O) Certification by the Uptime Institute, the globally recognized data center authority, according to Chief Information Officer Greg Wolf. The M&O Certification validates the investment and dedication that UMMS has put into its technology ecosystem. UMMS understands the value of high performing and reliable computer services throughout the institution, Wolf said.
“UMass Medical School has long been a leader in teaching the next generation of health care providers, in accelerating science through world-class research, and in providing health care services and innovative solutions to public and private institutions,” Wolf said. “Each aspect of the medical school heavily utilizes information and technical solutions. This makes our data center services critical to the success of the medical school’s mission. Our Information Technology Department is focused on delivering highly available services in a cost-effective manner. The Uptime Institute’s award validates the hard work and continued investment we put into our data center operations.”
The data center, located at the South Street campus in Shrewsbury, is a key element of the university’s data center optimization program, aimed at providing world-class technology services for all of its students, faculty, researchers and professionals.
