Keith Reimann, DVM, professor of medicine and senior director of product discovery at MassBiologics, has been appointed to the National Institutes of Health Council of Councils.
The council advises the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on research efforts that address major, cross-cutting NIH priorities and on matters related to the policies and activities of the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives. The council makes recommendations in the support of research that represents important areas of emerging scientific opportunities, rising public health challenges, or knowledge gaps that deserve special emphasis and would benefit from conducting or supporting additional research that involves collaboration between two or more national research institutes or centers, or would otherwise benefit from strategic coordination and planning. A major function of the council is to make recommendations on research proposals for funding by the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs and selected programs to be supported by the NIH Common Fund.
