Monika Mitra, PhD, assistant professor of family medicine & community health, was interviewed by National Public Radio’s health blog Shots on her new study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine indicating men with disabilities are four times more likely to be sexually assaulted during their lifetime than men who do not have disabilities. Dr. Mitra told NPR’s Whitney Blair Wyckoff that research into sexual assaults on men with disabilities had been limited. “Looking back, I was a little surprised to see the results that we got,” Mitra said.
