Sherif Elsayed, MBBCh, vascular neurology fellow
Sherif Elsayed, MBBCh, joined UMass Chan in 2024. Originally from Mansoura, Egypt, a city two hours north of Cairo. Dr. Elsayed was influenced at a young age to pursue medicine by his parents, both passionate physicians feeling great satisfaction for providing patient care.
Dr. Elsayed shares, “My research interests in the early years of residency included neuroimaging and endovascular treatments. In the future, I am looking forward to studying disparities in stroke care between patient populations, ideally from a more global perspective.”
Dr. Elsayed has geared his clinical interests toward the acute aspects of vascular neurology, and more specifically, hemorrhagic brain lesions caused by underlying vascular brain malformations. You can find Dr. Elsayed in our Comprehensive Stroke Center. We are honored he is a part of our fellowship program.
