Our Unit

Lakeside 2 is a 16-bed neurotrauma ICU located on a beautiful lakeside complex overlooking Lake Quinsigamond. This unit has spacious windowed negative pressure rooms, equipment for multimodal monitoring, a portable CT scan, a burn care unit with spray table, a conference room and houses the ICU Fellow, Neurosurgery resident/APP and Clnical Pharmacist's Office and has direct connectivity to the OR, PACU and is on the same floor as the Neuro-Interventional Angiography Suite and a floor above the Emergency Room, and MRI scanner. One of the few closed units in New England, it is staffed with board certified neurocritical care and trauma faculty that have trained in the finest institutions as well as an outstanding midlevel group of physician assistants and nurse practitioners. There is a veteran nursing corps with expertise in neurological and surgical critical care. There is a veteran nursing corps with expertise in neurological and surgical critical care. We also have a dedicated neurocritical care pharmacist who rounds daily with the critical care team and experience allied professional therapists.
