Research in the Mullen Lab focuses on unraveling molecular mechanisms controlling liver fibrosis. Specifically:

• Defining pathways that regulate hepatic stellate cell function
• Combining in vivo mouse studies, liver organoid biology, and single-cell analysis of human tissue to understand disease progression and identify points of intervention
• Targeting coding and long noncoding gene products to modulate disease
