Artificial miRNAs
What are artificial microRNAs (miRNAs)?
We develop artificial microRNAs (miRNAs) to express small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) to mediate silencing of target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). These artificial miRNAs can be expressed from a polymerase II or polymerase III promoter.

Importance
Artificial miRNAs allow us to silence (i.e. reduce the levels of) toxic RNA or protein. When those toxic molecules are not present anymore, or at when they are at very low levels, this can prevent the disease for progressing further, and can be therapeutic.
