Kriti Mittal Summarizes the Latest Practice Changing Updates in Perioperative Management of Urothelial Cancer
In a Viewpoint article published last week in Cell Med, Kriti Mittal, MD, MS, assistant professor of medicine and director of the GU Medical Oncology program in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, and her co-author Monika Joshi, MD, from Penn State Cancer Institute, discuss the clinical implications of findings from the practice changing AMBASSADOR trial which revealed improved outcomes for patients with urothelial cancer who received immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based therapy preoperatively in combination with chemotherapy. In this editorial, the authors analyze the data in this disease space and present a treatment algorithm for clinicians for perioperative systemic treatment or urothelial cancer.
