Amber Sarkar, MD - Grafton Hill House Mentor
Dr. Amber Sarkar was born and raised in Nebraska. After completing her high school education at the United World College in New Mexico, she returned to the Cornhusker State to complete degrees in biological sciences and international studies, with a minor in Spanish at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Amber attended medical school at the Medical School for International Health in Be’er Sheva Israel. She completed her residency in family medicine at the UMass Chan Medical School Family Medicine Residency – Family Health Center of Worcester site. Amber currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She does outpatient primary care for an underserved, largely immigrant, population at the Family Health Center of Worcester. At this site she also sees patients in the refugee clinic, is the Diabetes Champion and precepts medical students, nurse practitioner and medical residents and global health fellows. Amber also precepts learners at UMass Memorial Hospital where she practices inpatient obstetrics and newborn care. She previously taught in the Doctoring and Clinical Skills Course at UMass Chan and is moving on to a position as a learning community mentor at UMass Chan.
Outside the clinic Amber can often be found nurturing her children or garden vegetables.
