UMass Chan Medical School Awards

	Craig C. Mello, PhD. received the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physiology UMass Chan Medical School and the Carnegie Institution for Science have been granted a patent for the use of RNA interference (RNAi) to inhibit expression of a target gene in animal cells, including mammalian cells. 	Victor Ambros wins Keio Medical Science Prize The 18th Keio Medical Science Prize has been awarded to Victor R. Ambros, PhD, the Silverman Chair in Natural Science and professor of molecular medicine; and Shigekazu Nagata, PhD, professor of medical chemistry in the Graduate School of Medicine.
