UMass Chan IT is bolstering its de-identification tool services. Presently, Data Masker is licensed and approved for de-identifying SQL and Oracle databases. More information will be forthcoming regarding exactly how to leverage the tool.
In the meantime, please contact infosec@umassmed.edu if you would like additional information regarding Data Masker.
Manual data and open source de-identification methods may also be used as long as they follow the Safe Harbor requirements and processes outlined by HHS. Please reach out to infosec@umassmed.edu if you have additional questions.
