2024 Department of Systems Biology Research Program
About the Summer Research Program
This program offers an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students in quantitative sciences such as chemistry, physics, computer science and mathematics to gain experience in cutting-edge research in quantitative and systems biology. The program will help to develop a foundational understanding of biology and gain expertise in laboratory skills that will enable the pursuit of graduate careers in quantitative biology.
The program will involve research in a lab in the DSB where students will be paired with a graduate student or post-doc to optimize learning and engagement. During these weeks, there will be continued curriculum of research lectures from faculty, workshops focused on building experimental and analytic skills, and social events to encourage network building.
- The program will start May 26th and continue for 10 weeks until August 2nd and conclude with a symposium where students present their project.
- Housing and transportation to and from campus is included along with a stipend $4,000 paid in full upon completion of the program requirements.
- The first year is limited to six students and the deadline for applications is March 1st.
