My passion is to provide meaningful solutions to complex problems by making creative use of new and existing technologies. To that end, I have familiarized myself with a plethora of designing, prototyping and manufacturing techniques. I have also cultivated methods to arrive at novel solutions using the collaborative efforts and ambitious ideas of diverse teams. With my expertise in the areas of physics, optics, electronics, programming, simulation, prototyping and biomedical engineering, I am glad to be part of an interdisciplinary team that address key challenges in high-end fluorescence microscopy - and beyond. In an age where mastering a single discipline is no longer guarantee for scientific discovery, I aim to bridge the gap between biology and physics by making use of all the features an engineer might add to a biological inquiry. My expertise in simulation, software development and electrical as well as optical system design allow me to create advanced measurement systems that are efficient, automated and user-friendly. Using these unique machines, our lab can investigate phenomena that would otherwise be inaccessible to the scientific community.
