  • The Gregory Lab moved from Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester.

2023

August

  • Sujin Kim, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Sujin received her PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Republic of Korea.

July

  • Boyang Shi, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Boyang received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
  • Esteban completed his postdoctoral fellowship with us. He is starting his own lab as an Assistant Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Best of luck!
  • The team went deep sea fishing off of Gloucester. Xin Yang had the catch of the day!

April

  • Julia completed her postdoctoral fellowship and began her new position as Scientist at Alnylum Pharmaceuticals. The group celebrated with Colombian food at El Penol. Congratulations Julia!

January

  • Carmen will be leaving us at the end of this month after over 6 years as the lab manager for the Gregory Lab. Good luck at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard!

2019

October

  • Josef Saltz, a doctoral student at University of Massachusetts Boston has joined our lab. Welcome!
  • Xushen Xiong, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow in a joint capacity with Manolis Kellis' lab at MIT. Xushen earned his PhD in Epitranscriptomics at Peking University in Beijing, China.

September

  • Xin Wang, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Xin earned his PhD in Genomics from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.

July

  • Esteban was awarded two fellowships: Pew Latin American Fellowship with Pew Charitable Trusts and Damon Runyon Fellowship with Damon Runyon Cancer Research. Congratulations Esteban!

April

  • Jiazhi Li, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Jiazhi earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.

January

  • Junho completed his post-doctoral fellowship with us and moved back to South Korea. He is Assistant Profesor of RNA Genomics in the Department of Life Science at Hanyang University.

2018

December

  • Dr. Gregory became the first Stem Cell Biology Endowed Chair for Boston Children’s Hospital Department of Pediatrics.

October

  • Mehdi was awarded a Manton Center Fellowship with Manton Center for Orphan Disease Research. Congratulations Mehdi!
  • Robinson completed his post-doctoral fellowship with us. He is now a Scientist at Twentyeight-Seven Therapeutics in Watertown, MA.

  • Junho and Shuibin’s manuscript titled ‘mRNA circularization by METTL3-eIF3h enhances translation and promotes oncogenesis’ was published in Nature.

August

  • Jia Cui, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Jia earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
  • Peng completed his post-doctoral fellowship with us and moved back to China. Peng is Assistant Professor in the College of Life Sciences at Peking University, and Principal Investigator in Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences.

  • Shuibin's manuscript titled ‘Mettl1/Wdr4-Mediated m7G tRNA Methylome Is Required for Normal mRNA Translation and Embryonic Stem Cell Self-Renewal and Differentiation’ was published in Molecular Cell.

  • Lauren Gunasti has joined our lab as a summer intern and will stay until August. She is currently an undergraduate student at Williams College majoring in Chemistry.
  • Amy Jia has joined our lab as a summer intern and will stay until August. She is currently an undergraduate student at Harvard University majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

  • Esteban Orellana, PhD joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow. Esteban earned his PhD in Biological Sciences from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
  • Peng's manuscript entitled ‘An Intermediate Pluripotent State Controlled by MicroRNAs Is Required for the Naive-to-Primed Stem Cell Transition’ was published in Cell Stem Cell.
  • Shuibin completed his post-doctoral fellowship with us. He moved back to China to start his own lab at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. Shuibin serves as Principal Investigator/Professor in the Center for Translational Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital.
