Diversity Data Dashboards

At UMass Chan Medical School, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are essential components of our mission. These Diversity Data Dashboards help provide transparency by reporting some aspects of the racial and ethnic composition of students, staff and faculty.

As the institution works to build a more diverse and equitable environment, transparency about gains and shortcomings provides accountability and demonstrates a commitment to increasing diversity.

The dashboards report the composition of students enrolled in the T.H. Chan School of Medicine, the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing and the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences using criteria common to American medical schools. The dashboards also characterize the diversity of the faculty and staff at UMass Chan. The data, which are self-reported by students, staff and faculty, will be updated annually.

Enrollment data is displayed by self-reported ethnicity, gender and country of origin for students, as well as a graph displaying the enrollment by ethnicity over a five-year period. Faculty data is broken down by ethnicity, tenure by ethnicity and tenure by gender. Staff data is shown by job category, race and ethnicity and gender.
