  • Kelly Flanagan

    Kelly Flanagan

    Hometown: Boxboro, MA

    Kelly grew up just 30mins from UMass in Boxboro, MA. She went to Tufts for her undergrad and masters in biomedical engineering. She worked in healthcare consulting and at a biomedical device startup in the Boston area before heading to UMass Chan. She did a research fellowship in hair loss with UMass Derm alum, Dr. Maryanne Senna, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She then did her internship in Seattle at Virginia Mason Medical Center where she learned a lot of medicine but also enjoyed amazing hiking and skiing. She is thrilled to be returning to UMass for dermatology residency. She is particularly interested in complex medical dermatology, medical education, and mentorship. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and two dogs, Penny and Bear. She enjoys hiking, running, yoga and exploring the many great restaurants and breweries in Central Mass. 

     

  • Sina Foroutanjazi

    Sina Foroutanjazi

    Hometown: Tehran

    Sina was born and raised in Tehran before immigrating to the US. He earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Massachusetts Boston with honors and distinction in both Chemistry and Biology, obtained his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine with research honors, completed a research year at Brigham and Women's hospital in face and soft tissue transplantation, finished his internship in internal medicine at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, and is delighted to be completing his training in dermatology at UMass Memorial Medical Center. He is interested in surgical, cosmetic, and academic dermatology. Sina has been practicing Taekwondo since childhood and has a 3rd-degree black belt. He is also an editorial staff in poetry for the medical humanities journal The Intima. In his time off he enjoys practicing Taekwondo, skiing, swimming, visiting new cities, reading poetry, and watching movies.

  • Holly Neale

    Holly Neale

    College: University of Massachusetts, Amherst
    Medical School: University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School 
    Hometown: Chelmsford, MA

    Holly was born in England and grew up in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst for her undergraduate studies in neuroscience, while working at a community hospital. Her enjoyment for patient care and science led her to UMass Chan Medical School, where she became involved with dermatology volunteer work, publishing research, and working with patient advocacy groups. She completed a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital with a focus on neurological abnormalities in patients with pigmented birthmarks, as well as skin cancer in young patients. After graduating medical school, Holly completed her intern year at Cambridge Health Alliance, and is now excited to return to UMass Chan for dermatology residency. Her clinical interests range from pediatric dermatology to cutaneous oncology and cosmetics. In her free time, Holly enjoys traveling, game nights, baking, and trying new restaurants.

     

  • Shauna Rice

    Shauna Rice

    Hometown: Essex, MA

    Shauna grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts in the small town of Essex, MA. She went to UMass Amherst for undergrad where she studied biology and met her now husband Chris, who is currently an emergency medicine resident also at UMass. She went to medical school at UMass Chan and did her internship at Cambridge Health Alliance. She could not be happier to be rejoining the UMass dermatology family now as a resident. Shauna’s interests include community health in dermatology as well as teaching. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, boating, snow skiing, traveling, baking, and trying new restaurants with her husband.
