Abstract: Audit logs from electronic health records (EHRs) hold untapped potential for understanding user behavior, system interactions, and workflow challenges in healthcare. This talk explores how audit logs can be harnessed to improve usability and optimize clinician workflows, drawing from recent studies on identifying bottlenecks, reducing cognitive load, and enhancing user experience. By leveraging audit log analytics, we can move beyond static usability evaluations to create adaptive systems that meet the dynamic needs of healthcare providers. This presentation will share insights, methodologies, and findings from research, offering a roadmap for actionable improvements in EHR design and evaluation.
