Faculty Hiring Information
In the BMB department, we strive to build a research community that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Science is best done in a community with a variety of strengths, interests and ideas. Our faculty hiring process has several built-in safeguards against bias, and our review process is analyzed annually for optimization. UMass Chan as an institution is similarly committed to fostering an environment of inclusive collaborative excellence where all faculty can thrive. For example, UMass Chan developed a Cluster Hire Program to increase support for junior faculty as they integrate into UMass Chan.

Note - there is no formal teaching requirement in the BMB department. As one of our departmental and institutional pillars, education is expected of tenure track faculty, but this expectation can be fulfilled in many different ways.
