Program Administration

Dr. Scott grew up in Connecticut, received his B.S. from the University of Connecticut and graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Massachusetts and completed his fellowship in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University.  He practices as a Vascular and Liver Transplant Anesthesiologist and Cardiovascular Intensivist at the UMass University Campus. In addition to being the Anesthesiology Residency Program Director, he serves as the Medical Director of the 3 Lakeside Heart and Vascular ICU. His research interests lie in the perioperative applications of new medical devices - a sphere where he's conducted funded research in pulse oximeter and non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring technology. When not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 daughters and his Korean Jindo rescue dog at their home in northeast Connecticut. Together, they enjoy visiting playgrounds and aquariums, hiking and exploring the U.S. National Park system (18 and counting).

Dr. Adrahtas grew up in Greece where he finished medical school at the University of Athens. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Stony Brook, New York followed by an Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at Rutgers in New Jersey. He practices as a Vascular and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist at the UMass University Campus. His academic interests include resident education, airway management and rescue TEE. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, spending time with his family and traveling  

Dr. Crowther is originally from Kansas, and received both a B.S. in Cognitive Psychology with Honors and B.A. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas. During college, he spent a year studying German at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany. Following this, he pursued graduate work in psychology, completing both an MA and PhD in Psychology with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience at Rice University. During this time, he spent a summer as a visiting researcher at Beijing Normal University in Beijing, China. After graduate school, he pursued a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine, which eventually led to his decision to pursue medicine. He completed his MD at Tulane University, followed by an internship in General Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Anesthesiology residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. After residency, he sought specialty training through a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Outside of medicine, he has diverse, and ever-changing, interests. Previously, he was very involved in gardening, and in particular cultivating and selling both common (eg, Phyllostachys aurea) and rarer (eg, Phyllostachys nigra) species of bamboo. He trained in Aikido during graduate school, and Kendo during medical school. Currently, his main interest is traveling with wife and three children, making regular trips to the Hawaiian islands for hiking, snorkeling, and scuba diving  

Dr. Parzych grew up in central Massachusetts, received her B.A. from Wellesley College and M.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed residency in Anesthesiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She practices as an adult and pediatric anesthesiologist at the Umass University, Memorial and Hahnemann campuses. Her academic interests include simulation education and pediatric airway management. She also collaborates with researchers at UMass Chan Medical School in a gene therapy trial for patients with Tay-Sachs disease. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys boogie boarding with her twin sister and hiking with her husband and rescue hound, Ritzy.

Dr. Vandoros grew up in Western Massachusetts, received his B.S. from University of Massachusetts Amherst and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Massachusetts. He practices as an adult and OB anesthesiologist at the Umass University, Memorial, Hahnemann, and Marlborough campuses. When not practicing medicine, he enjoys watching movies, gardening, and spending time with his family.
