Anatomical Gift Donors Memorial Service 2019
The Medical School Class of 2022 created and hosted a Memorial Service for the Anatomical Gift Donors on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Families of the Donors, students, faculty and staff were invited to attend. The program included music, poems, images, video, remembrances from family members, thoughts and thanks from the medical students and a recitation of Donor names. Dean Terence Flotte, MD welcomed the guests, and Radiology Chair Max Rosen, MD, presented the closing remarks. The host for the service was Mariam Chekmeyan, Class of 2022.
Following the service families were invited to a luncheon where many enjoyed sharing memories with medical students and faculty.
From the Class of 2022
In memory of those who have donated their bodies, the Class of 2022 has gifted a tree to be planted in May of 2019 on the grounds of the UMass Chan Medical School, Worcester Campus: in hopes that patients and future students may enjoy the blossoming tree and remember our Anatomical donors. In addition, a tree will be planted in honor of each of the donors in the White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire.
