Cancer Population Health Sciences
The Cancer Population Health Sciences (CPHS) Program investigates the complex multilevel determinants of cancer risk and treatment outcomes to inform the design and implementation of effective cancer screening, prevention, treatment and survivorship care in health care and public health practice. Research in the CPHS Program aims to:
- Identify and characterize multilevel determinants of cancer risk, treatment, survivorship care and quality of life outcomes across community and clinical settings in diverse populations
- Develop intervention and implementation science approaches to promote cancer screening and prevention (e.g., tobacco cessation, nutrition and physical activity)
- Recruit, train and mentor the next generation of cancer-focused population scientists by promoting inclusion in collaborative work groups, use of shared resources and pilot funding
