About Us
Welcome to the website of the Bucci laboratory. I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology at UMass Chan Medical School.
I am also and Adjunct Professor in Bioengineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where I spent the years from 2013-2019 as Assistant and then Associate Professor. I received my Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Florence in 2006. I moved to the Hellweger Lab at Northeastern University in Boston where I got my Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Civil Engineering in 2008 and 2010, respectively. I spent the years from September 2010 to July 2013 in the Xavier Lab in the Program in Computational Biology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.
I am very much interested in problems in computational and systems biology, mathematical modeling, microbial ecology, evolutionary biology, genomics and metagenomics. My research goal is to understand mechanisms responsible for the temporal and spatial dynamics of complex biological systems and develop tools to predict and engineer them.
