Training
We aim to prepare postdocs for a career as boundary-pushing critical thinkers. We provide an excellent environment for postdoctoral researchers to expand their skills.
In addition to the training each postdoc gets in the lab setting, the following opportunities are also available:
- The UMass Chan Office for Postdoctoral Scholars (OPS) provides several training opportunities, including:
- programs in professional development.
- programs that support placement and training.
- a seminar series.
- Postdocs present their work in our departmental “Research In Progress Seminars” (RIPS).
- Postdocs are welcome to participate in scientific journal clubs occurring in the department.
- Postdocs are strongly encouraged to present their data at scientific meetings to improve presentation skills, network with colleagues and discuss science with leaders in the field.
