Pre-Surgical Evaluation
The Pre-Surgical Evaluation Center serves as the primary site for the pre-anesthetic evaluation for our patients having procedures at our University, Memorial, and Hahnemann campuses. As the medical director, my role is to supervise the nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are helping to evaluate these patients. Other responsibilities include the development of perioperative protocols and guidelines, supervision of the anesthesia staff and residents who rotate through this clinic and serving as liaison with our surgical colleagues. The rotation of residents during their CA-1 and CA-3 years through our clinic is an important part of our residency program and training of our future anesthesiologist and perioperative physicians. The clinic also serves as research site supporting many clinical investigational studies and quality initiative programs.
